Pink, Prom and Perfect Dresses!

Heyy Gals,
So as you probably know it was my high school Prom a few weeks ago and I just thought I'd share with you some of the photos from the night and what dress and style I decided to go for.

Before there was any mention of Prom at school I knew that I wanted to go for a 50s style tea length dress. I have always appreciated and adored the pure class, innocence and elegance that the 50s style possesses. I did have a hard time finding this style of dress but after scowering many online stores and prom dress shops I found a large bridal store that stocked a wide range of dresses not that far from where I live. It was here that I found this gorgeous dress. It was originally a halter neck dress but I preferred it without the strap and so they were able to detach it for me.  My dress was also originally in a very pale blue shade, but I also chose to have it remade in a baby pink. In this colour the dress also resembles the dress that Lorraine where's in Back To The Future when she goes to the The Enchantment Under The Sea Dance with Marty's Dad... which just so happens to be my favourite film.

You can't tell on these pictures but the dress also has an overlay of ivory dots on it which exemplifys the 50s flair. My peep toe heels are from New Look and my clutch bag is from Next.

Again, sticking with the 50s theme I opted for a winged eyeliner and a matte red lipstick. In order to achieve this striking colour I used a Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet- you can find my review of this linked below.

I absolutely love this moment that my Mum captured between me and my Auntie. And I thought I'd share it with you because you can see my pin up curls clearer and it might help you if any of you are trying to find a photo of a 50s pin up hairstyle.

I had a lovely time with my friends at Prom. Everyone looked fabulous and I wish everyone at my school and anyone who's just left high school all the best for the future. May you have a fun filled Summer and a brilliant start at whatever you go on to do.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet REVIEW

Hey Guys, so today I thought I'd review the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in shade 01 for you. I wore this at Prom on Thursday as I went for a classic 50s style dress and so I opted for this well pigmented striking pillar box red colour.
I heard about these in one of Gabby's (Velvet Ghosts) videos a long time ago, I can't remember which one, but I have wanted one ever since. Gabby said that her favourites was this shade and some of the more nude colours. However, I haven't delved into the nude shades yet, although I'll definitely be purchasing more of these.
Firstly, the packaging of this product is truly gorgeous. I think what makes it look so classy is the clear glass effect tube (I don't know whether I'm describing this properly) with the black simple typography over the top. Adding to this the bright red lip-gloss-type-product and you can tell that the product screams sophistication. For a drug store product Bourjois have made it as classic and cosmopolitan as possible.
The application of this product is made easy with the chunky doe-foot applicator. However, because I went for a bright colour some extra care always has to be taken. Because I wanted my lip to be as perfect as possible I decided to opt for a red lip liner. I used the Maxfactor colour elixir lip liner in shade 10, Red Rush. I think if I were to use my Rouge Edition Velvet in an ordinary everyday circumstance then I wouldn't have used the liner but just to be on the safe side I thought it was necessary.
The finish on this product is a beautiful matte look, Although if you prefer your lips shiny then this product does have a ''mirror like shine'' effect range. I personally prefer a matte finish so that's why I chose to get this one.
Finally, this product seems to last forever. When I was at prom I didn't feel like I had to top my lip colour up or check it every 2 seconds. In fact, I didn't top it up once while I was there (4 hours) although I probably should have done it once just so the colour was still popping. The most amazing thing about this must have product is that it does not transfer! I repeat IT DOESN'T TRANSFER! I think there is nothing worse than when you wear a red lipstick n it transfers onto the glass your using. I really hate that.

Comment down below if you hate that too and if you've ever used any of these products before let me know your views on them.

New Glasses..

I am so excited to tell you (although it has no effect on you) that I have recently bought 2 new pairs of glasses. If you are a glasses wearer, then you will probably understand my excitement, or at least I hope so.
Some people tend to ask me why I always get 2 pairs of glasses and it's because I seem to get really bored with wearing glasses and then ultimately stop wearing them and so in order to stop this I buy 2 pairs so I can switch it up a bit from time to time. The downside to this is it takes me a while in the morning to decided on which pair to wear that day :L

The first pair I purchased are what I think I will be wearing every day. They are the more ordinary pair of the two. They are the FCUK 99 pair in green (or so it says on the Specsavers website, I think they are actually blue). They are quite big and round, with a slight cat eye.
My second pair are the Red Or Dead 100 pair which are black and have an accentuated cat eye. They are extremely quirky and unique and make you look like you have just walked out of the 50s. Above the lenses (on the cat eye) they have got 3 magnets which allow you to clip various coloured strips on. Which makes the glasses even more wearable as they give you many different looks and they seem to accentuate the cat eye even more, which is brilliant for me as this is the main reason I bought them. The strip bits (I don't know what to call them) come in a red, black and sort of a marble sandstone colour. You can see them in the pictures below.

My Red Or Dead glasses can also be seen in Tanya Burr's 'Everyday make up for Glasses Wearers!' video. I shall leave a link to that down below along with the link to both pairs of my glasses on the Specsavers page.

I love both pairs but now have the immense decision of which to wear when we go out for tea tonight.
