5 Summer Must Haves!
Hey Gals!
Seeing as though the sun has decided to show it's face in Britain this week I thought I'd post a summery-sun-fest list this week. So here's 5 things I can't live without it the Summer!
1). The Bodyshop's BB Cream- This BB cream is perfect for those sweltering summer days when you don't want something 'cakey' on your face. This thinner based product still provides very good coverage without you feeling like your face is melting. And with it being from The Bodyshop it isn't very expensive- usually around £8-£10 if I remember correctly.
2). A Backpack/Rucksack- In the Summer there's nothing I love more than stashing my backpack with a good book, a drink, my headphones and trekking off to some random field where I can waste the day away doing nothing. I particularly love this Backpack as it is full of many colours meaning it will go with almost anything and it certainly brightens up any outfit. I bought this a few years ago in a Boxing Day Sale at Accessorize. Although, you can't get this in Accessorize now, I know that they still do a wide range of beautiful backpacks at an average, reasonable price of £30-£40. It may seem a lot but these backpacks you will be able to pull out year after year and they will still look fantastically fashionable as the first time you wore it.
3). Summer Sandals (Birkenstocks & Jelly Shoes) - Ok so I am cheating a bit with this one as it's more of a group of things than one particular item. Of course, every year in Summer people get there toes out but this year I have been particularly loving Birkenstock Sandals and Jelly Shoes. I don't own a pair of original Birkenstock's although I have found that Primark are selling a range of 'similar' sandals. I have purchased 2 pairs of these (pictured below) and they are still as sassy as the originals.
However, if you're the type of person who likes to have the 'proper', 'original' version but doesn't like the 'original' price then I have noticed that TK Maxx (I believe it's called Homesense in the US) have been stocking up on them for almost half the RRP. This applies to JuJu jelly shoes aswell. I purchased my heeled jelly shoes from New Look when they did a flash summer sandal sale event.
4). Bright Lipsticks- It's Summer, that means my bright lipstick collection has made another appearance. I have been loving Rimmel's Kate Moss lipstick in shade 110- a orangey red hue, as well as bright pink lipsticks and Bourjois's lip crayon in shade 03, orange punch.
5). Soap and Glory's Breakfast Scrub- And Finally this Body scrub is perfect all year round but it always feels particularly good to use a well-scented, well-working scrub in the Summer Months when you'll be showing off more skin tan usual. Mmm... I just love this scent. To me it smells like baking cookies or cake.
I hope you enjoyed this post let me know down below what your favourite Summer Products and accessories are, I'd love to here about them.

Pink, Prom and Perfect Dresses!
Heyy Gals,
So as you probably know it was my high school Prom a few weeks ago and I just thought I'd share with you some of the photos from the night and what dress and style I decided to go for.
Before there was any mention of Prom at school I knew that I wanted to go for a 50s style tea length dress. I have always appreciated and adored the pure class, innocence and elegance that the 50s style possesses. I did have a hard time finding this style of dress but after scowering many online stores and prom dress shops I found a large bridal store that stocked a wide range of dresses not that far from where I live. It was here that I found this gorgeous dress. It was originally a halter neck dress but I preferred it without the strap and so they were able to detach it for me. My dress was also originally in a very pale blue shade, but I also chose to have it remade in a baby pink. In this colour the dress also resembles the dress that Lorraine where's in Back To The Future when she goes to the The Enchantment Under The Sea Dance with Marty's Dad... which just so happens to be my favourite film.
Again, sticking with the 50s theme I opted for a winged eyeliner and a matte red lipstick. In order to achieve this striking colour I used a Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet- you can find my review of this linked below.
I absolutely love this moment that my Mum captured between me and my Auntie. And I thought I'd share it with you because you can see my pin up curls clearer and it might help you if any of you are trying to find a photo of a 50s pin up hairstyle.
I had a lovely time with my friends at Prom. Everyone looked fabulous and I wish everyone at my school and anyone who's just left high school all the best for the future. May you have a fun filled Summer and a brilliant start at whatever you go on to do.

You can't tell on these pictures but the dress also has an overlay of ivory dots on it which exemplifys the 50s flair. My peep toe heels are from New Look and my clutch bag is from Next.

rAnDoM cute hAuL.
Hey Gals, so as you can tell by the funky title I've got a cute lil' random collective haul for you today. I am in love with all of these goodies I have brought recently whether it's from clothes to miscellaneous randomness so I guess you could put this in the category of a 'Favourites' as well. Here goes....
The first item is clothing and it is this gorgeous yellow, flower print rain coat/mac. I absolutely adore this coat, I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. I just know that it is going to be prefect for throwing in my bag when I'm off out in the Summer- let's face it the British weather is completely unpredictable. This would also be good if your off to a festival this year and I don't think it was even that expensive. You can pick this beauty up from Next.
Me and my friends like to go 'Charity Shop' shopping every once in a while, as you can usually find unique clothes in there and one off items all at really cheap prices. Whilst also donating to charity so there's definitely no regret of spending too much money. On our latest trip I picked up this book by Colin Dexter. It's the last book in the Inspector Morse Series and I know it is going to be so sad. I'm really looking forward to being able to read this in the Summer when I've got a lot more free time.
I wondered into Boots not too long ago to pick up a few basic essentials that I'd run out from: one of them things being concealer. I decided to try out 'Rimmel's Wake Me Up' Concealer and i can honestly say I have not been disappointed. It's got brilliant coverage but is also really light.
My mum had a few vouchers left over from Christmas and so she gave them to me and I decided to buy this beautiful casual denim dress from Dorothy Perkins. I can't remember exactly how much it was, I think it was about £20 but it was quite the bargain really. I can't wait to where this in the warmer months without the need for tights and Dr Martens. However, this is a brilliant transitional piece from Spring to Summer.
Whilst in Boots I also picked up another tube of the Tea Tree Witch Hazel 'shine control day moisturizer' . I absolutely love this stuff and cannot live without it but I won't go on about it too much as I have written a blog post on it before. I'll leave the link for that down below if you want to go and check it out. I also purchased my usual liquid foundation: 'Rimmel's Match Perfection' foundation in shade Ivory. This is my go-to foundation I love how it isn't 'cakey' but does have a really good coverage.
I needed a new pair of basic jeans so I hopped on over to New Look and bought some standard black jeans. I really love the fit and comfort of New Look Jeans. However, after wearing these a few times I found that they are the type of material that seem to attract pet hair like crazy. This sin't very good for me as I live in a house with two cats and a dog. I have resulted to buying another pair of black jeans from Primark and just wearing these on special occasions.
I bought this stunning purse from New Look as well. Originally, I was looking for the lilac version of this purse but they didn't have it in stock so I bought this one instead. I must say I have been receiving many lovely compliments about how pretty it is. It isn't only pretty though, it's practical too as it has lots of slots for cards as well as a large compartment for coins and cash.
I have been loving basic tee's lately and so I picked up a grey and black ringer tee from New Look. As I start College this Autumn I desperately need to fill out my wardrobe with some basic everyday essentials that I can just throw on when I am late to get up in a morning. And so i thought this would still look cute with a little necklace and a chunky cardigan.
I hope would've enjoyed this post and if you'd like me to do more hauls like this then comment below or follow me.

Bad News & Good News.
Hey Gals,
Firstly, I want to apologize that I haven't been posting much lately. There's lots of things been going on over the last 2 months. However there is some bad news, I'm afraid that Exam Season is starting for me on Monday and so for the next 1 month, I'm really going to be concentrating on revision and getting good grades in my exams.
I can promise that the day I have my first exam I will be updating regularly. And by regularly I mean like every couple of days. This Summer will be one of the longest breaks I have between college or whatever ever, so I'm going to try and do lots of things. I'll tell you all about my plans for the Summer in a month. I can't wait to document everything and share it with you guys.
Later today I'll post one more time before I have to log off for a month. :(
Please look out for that and I'm sure you'll join me in saying 'Bring on Summer'.

My Halloween costume
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Hi guys, so it's Halloween and I just thought I'd do a post on what I'm going to be dressing up as for the night, where my ideas came from and how to accomplish the look.
I really didn't know what to go as for Halloween and after endless scrolling on the internet of pictures of overly priced costumes that I would only use for one night and pictures of extremely good makeup, which looked like it had taken hours to master, it was pretty safe to say that I was a bit intimidated. All over the internet it seemed that everyone wanted to have the best costume and look the best, forget out-dressing the host it was more like out-scaring the host. I was racing to calculate how much I could afford to spend on this one-off outfit, at this busy time of year. It was only till I was scrolling through Twitter late one night that I found a picture of what people use to dress up like when the traditions of Halloween started. It was very much use what-ever-you-can-find-and-stick-it-on. But let's face it, it was ten times scarier than todays commercialised costumes. So I decided to stick with a very simple and affordable outfit, no matter what everyone else was going to turn up in.
As you can see from the picture below I went as a Broken Doll to my friends Halloween party. This look was really affordable as I just used what I had around the house and from previous Halloween costumes.
To start off with I got two, knee length odd socks. I then teamed this with a regular black skater skirt. The netting that appears to be on the edge of my skirt is (believe it or not) a small net table cloth that I got from Wilkinson's for a £1 last year. Although I'm pretty sure you'd be able to find something similar lying around the house. This is also what I used to make the bow on my top. I secured the 'netting' to my skirt by 2 safety pins.
The 'apron' around my middle isn't an apron at all, it just looks like one. In fact it is just an old white t-shirt with fake blood on it, cut out into a semi-circle shape. I have simply tucked this into my skirt as I want to be able to se my skirt again after Halloween, although if you want to go all out, you could sew the 'apron' to our skirt with some white cotton.
I then used another old t-shirt to make the 'collar' on my top. This was the most difficult part of the costume, as I had to get the measurements right. It was quite difficult but if you had somebody's help it would probably help a lot, however good old perseverance never did anyone any harm. The collar I sewed to the neckline of my top-following the hem round.
For my make-up. The only thing I can actually tell you, that will actually be of use to you on this topic is that you should just look on the internet for ideas - I found that Google images and Pinterest were very useful, I'm sure Instagram would be too and maybe heck out some videos on YouTube. I can tell you that the must-have products to create this look is red lipstick, eyeliner, white face paint or very light foundation and grey/black eye shadow. This is the best part about your Halloween costume. Go experiment and have fun with this part. The world is your oyster.

Btw guys, I'm thinking about a possible name change next week and a redesign of my blog as I don't really like the name tooty fruity because it was a bit spontaneous. If you think of any ideas as to what I can rename my blog please let me know in the comment below or contact on any other social media; the links will be below.
