5 Top Tips For Last Minute Revision.

Hey Gals,
As most of you are aware GCSE exams start this up coming week and if your as unorganized as me you'll have left the subjects you hate to revise for last minute. And now your panicking. I'm not going to say you brought this all on yourself- I've been there, i know that now you're probably looking at your revision guide and thinking 'what even does this word mean?' I feel ya. But honestly, lets just put maximum effort in for these next 3 weeks and I'm sure will pay off for the rest of your life. So here goes my 5 top tips for last minute revision.

1). Get them post its out.
Yep, you heard. For me the best revision technique is using 900 million post it notes. Of course, not actually 900 million but you get the idea. I use these to jot down key points and sometimes definitions of words. Sometimes I stick them up around the house so that when I'm putting my makeup or whatever I can just look at it and try and stick it to my brain. This really helps me with key terms. Plus when your sitting in the exam you can think back to where that post it is the house and remember whats on it. However, this is more effective if you do it quite a while before your exams. I also use the post it notes as flashcards sometimes. So when I eat my tea I'll take a post it note and sit with it in front of me and voila by the time you've finished you know it half by heart. You can even take them on a car journey with you and just cover the word and then try and recite the meaning. That works particularly well with English Literature quotes.

2). Use a variety of techniques.
One of the reasons you get bored when doing revision is because you sit there with your head in a text book and reread the same paragraph over and over again. Sure, using a revision guide is perfect for getting your information some times but try to mix things up from time to time. Try finding useful revision videos on 'YouTube' or visit websites such as 'BBC Bitesize'. I found particularly useful apps on my phone. I've been liking 'Eduvee' for science revision. It allows you to watch videos about which ever topic you wish to learn about, read information on it and test yourself. I've also been loving 'Gojimo' as you can select the topics that are relevant to you and even select different exam boards for each topic which is really useful. Plus, both of these apps are free on the Apple App Store.

3). Take a break.
Every 40 minutes or so remember to take a break from revision. Taking breaks regularly between revision sessions is proven to help you remember and implant things into your brain. Just try to keep a good ratio between breaks and actual revising.

4).  Focus on the things you really don't know anything about- there's no point revising things you already know!
I know that when you pick up your revision guide and you have a look at all the topics you need to know the first thing you do is panic about all the things that you don't know how to answer the questions to. Then the next thing you do is think ''Let's do *insert best topic* because I know how to answer that. DON'T DO IT. You're making it worse for yourself. If you know a small amount about a lot of topics then that's better than knowing everything about 2 topics and just praying that they come up on the exam.

5). Try to stay calm.
I know it's hard but try and stay calm.If you begin to panic your definitely going to forget things. Before you go into your exam try and do something that makes you more calm. I usually listen to music whilst looking through some key notes. Just stay calm and you'll be fine.

Good Luck to anyone sitting there GCSE's this year or any other exam for that matter. I'm sure you'll do brilliantly.

rAnDoM cute hAuL.

Hey Gals, so as you can tell by the funky title I've got a cute lil' random collective haul for you today. I am in love with all of these goodies I have brought recently whether it's from clothes to miscellaneous randomness so I guess you could put this in the category of a 'Favourites' as well. Here goes....

The first item is clothing and it is this gorgeous yellow, flower print rain coat/mac. I absolutely adore this coat, I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. I just know that it is going to be prefect for throwing in my bag when I'm off out in the Summer- let's face it the British weather is completely unpredictable. This would also be good if your off to a festival this year and I don't think it was even that expensive. You can pick this beauty up from Next.

Me and my friends like to go 'Charity Shop' shopping every once in a while, as you can usually find unique clothes in there and one off items all at really cheap prices. Whilst also donating to charity so there's definitely no  regret of spending too much money. On our latest trip I picked up this book by Colin Dexter. It's the last book in the Inspector Morse Series and I know it is going to be so sad. I'm really looking forward to being able to read this in the Summer when I've got a lot more free time.

I wondered into Boots not too long ago to pick up a few basic essentials that I'd run out from: one of them things being concealer. I decided to try out 'Rimmel's Wake Me Up' Concealer and i can honestly say I have not been disappointed. It's got brilliant coverage but is also really light.

My mum had a few vouchers left over from Christmas and so she gave them to me and I decided to buy this beautiful casual denim dress from Dorothy Perkins. I can't remember exactly how much it was, I think it was about £20 but it was quite the bargain really. I can't wait to where this in the warmer months without the need for tights and Dr Martens. However, this is a brilliant transitional piece from Spring to Summer.

Whilst in Boots I also picked up another tube of the Tea Tree Witch Hazel 'shine control day moisturizer' . I absolutely love this stuff and cannot live without it but I won't go on about it too much as I have written a blog post on it before. I'll leave the link for that down below if you want to go and check it out. I also purchased my usual liquid foundation: 'Rimmel's Match Perfection' foundation in shade Ivory. This is my go-to foundation I love how it isn't 'cakey' but does have a really good coverage.

I needed a new pair of basic jeans so I hopped on over to New Look and bought some standard black jeans. I really love the fit and comfort of New Look Jeans. However, after wearing these a few times I found that they are the type of material that seem to attract pet hair like crazy. This sin't very good for me as I live in a house with two cats and a dog. I have resulted to buying another pair of black jeans from Primark and just wearing these on special occasions.

I bought this stunning purse from New Look as well. Originally, I was looking for the lilac version of this purse but they didn't have it in stock so I bought this one instead. I must say I have been receiving many lovely compliments about how pretty it is. It isn't only pretty though, it's practical too as it has lots of slots for cards as well as a large compartment for coins and cash.

I have been loving basic tee's lately and so I picked up a grey and black ringer tee from New Look. As I start College this Autumn I desperately need to fill out my wardrobe with some basic everyday essentials that I can just throw on when I am late to get up in a morning. And so i thought this would still look cute with a little necklace and a chunky cardigan.

I hope would've enjoyed this post and if you'd like me to do more hauls like this then comment below or follow me.

Bad News & Good News.

Hey Gals,
Firstly, I want to apologize that I haven't been posting much lately. There's lots of things been going on over the last 2 months. However there is some bad news, I'm afraid that Exam Season is starting for me on Monday and so for the next 1 month, I'm really going to be concentrating on revision and getting good grades in my exams.
I can promise that the day I have my first exam I will be updating regularly. And by regularly I mean like every couple of days. This Summer will be one of the longest breaks I have between college or whatever ever, so I'm going to try and do lots of things. I'll tell you all about my plans for the Summer in a month. I can't wait to document everything and share it with you guys.
Later today I'll post one more time before I have to log off for a month. :(
Please look out for that and I'm sure you'll join me in saying 'Bring on Summer'.

American Goodies!

As you may know, if you follow me on Twitter or Pinterest my brother and his girlfriend recently went to America for a fun packed city escape to New York. While they were there they bought some lovely things for moi and so I decided to share them with you in this post.

This a bag which they bought me from the Hershey store. As you will tell when you read on I have a real LOVE for Hershey's chocolate so this is why they bought me this. It is quite a large, structured bag, similar to the 'bag for life's' you can get here in the UK. I particularly love how the image of the cartoon chocolate looks quite retro.

Maybe, I should explain before I talk about this one. Previous, to when my brother and Kayleigh went into the Hershey store they had been struggling of what to bring me back from America so when they went into this chocoholics heaven they thought they would buy me a lot of Hershey stuff because they know that I absolutely love it. Plus, over here where I live it is quite expensive as everything is imported :(
So pictured above is a giant Hershey Kiss. Yep 198g of solid milk Hershey chocolate. It looks so pretty in it's box though so I really don't know when I will actually eat it.
This t-shirt I actually asked if they could bring me back. It's a Guardians Of The Galaxy burn out tee from Forever 21. I am in LOVE with this. It so brilliant- it's going to be perfect to throw on in the summer with some shorts and your hair in a cute messy bun. If any of you gals have watched this amaaaaaazing film then drop me a comment below- I think it's great. I watched it last night actually. It is one of the only Marvel films that I actually enjoy apart from the new 'SpiderMan' Movies but that's mainly because Andrew Garfield is super hot.

They also brought me back this amazing jumper that is just perfect for the spring time. It's a jumper but it's not really thick- I just know it's going to be brilliant for them mornings where it's freezing but by dinner time it's really warm. This was from American Eagle Outfitters.

They bought me these typical tourist souvenirs. Sorry if your are from America and arelooking at this and thinking why the hell is she getting excited about this stuff but yeah, I love these.
The cute key ring pictured to the left is really nice and you'll probably see it on my backpack in some pictures soon. I don't know whether you gals know but I have this collection of snow-globes that I've had since I was like 9 maybe and it just keeps on growing, so much so that I have to keep the majority in a box and swap and change them once in a while. So yep, this is another gorgeous snow-globe to add to my growing collection.

And finally the last two things-both Hershey of course. They bought me 2 classic bags of Hershey kisses (my favourite), 'Cookies n Cream' and milk chocolate, and a huge bottle of Hershey's chocolate flavour syrup. I can't wait to try out this syrup on pancakes or waffles... with strawberries. Mmm. Keep checking my Instagram and you'll probably see one of them within the next week :)

Thanks for reading, remember to share my blog with your friends if you enjoyed this and follow me on my other sites.

I now have a Tumblr so give that a cheeky visit if you want

Winter Walks With my Besto

Hey guys, I know I've been absent from this bog for quite a while now, but I've literally had loads to do. i'm so sorry but I hope that I'll be posting more regularly from now on.

As some of you guys may know in England we had quite a bit of snow last week and so my school ended up closing early. Me and my friend decided to go for a walk and spend the rest of the day taking photographs of the pretty white stuff, so I thought I'd share with you some of the pictures I took.

Beth's wearing: leggings & Hat: Primark, Coat:Matalan and Purple Doc's by Goldigga. I don't know which top she had on :L

I'm wearing jeans:Next, plain black long sleeve basic top: Primark, black & green checked coat:Matalan, Some random pearl scarf and hat set that I can't remember where it's from and my look a like Doc martens which are made by Goldigga.

I hope you enjoyed this post. There's more to come later this week :)

Graze Box.

Towards the end of last year I subscribed to Graze - a company that sends you 4 carefully selected healthy alternative snacks in a box delivered straight to your door. Considering that one of my New Year's resolutions  (a link to 'My New Years Resolutions' will be below)was to start being healthier, I thought I'd share with you what the Graze box is also about and what I like about it.

I am subscribed to the 'Nibble Box' where you can choose from the maximum variety of snacks and it really gives you a chance to try out everything. I chose this one because I didn't have a clue what to pick at first as there are loads of different ones to pick from, e.g. chocolate box (balancing chocolate with wholesome snacks), Sugar count box (every snack is 10% under your RDA of sugar- so that it's easy to keep track of) and the breakfast box...well I think you'll be able to guess what's in that one :)

Graze is brilliant at being in control of when you want your boxes, for example my subscription is for every 2 weeks. However, sometimes I forget about them and I'm then swimming in Graze boxes for a week. When this happens I simply 'book a holiday'. No, unfortunately this doesn't mean that I pack my suitcase and travel to the Bahamas while my cat feasts on healthy snacks for a week. It means that I can tell Graze that I don't want my box being delivered for a couple of weeks (this is also great if you are actually going on holiday).

Graze's snacks are delicious. Being a real desert fiend I particularly like the flapjacks, Graze's heavenly brownie and the snacks that contain chocolate :) However, I have also been loving the 'Super Berries',  'Jalapeno Hot Chips' and 'Brilliant Banana Bread with Dates and Hazelnuts'. Mmm...

Also Graze always seem to be doing brilliant offers. Giving you vouchers and offers to try your first box for free is what they do. S keep an eye out in magazines and on television. I first tried my Graze box with a voucher out of a magazine.

Lastly, the box that your yummy snacks come in is so cute and 'natural' looking (idk) you can't help but give in to being healthy. Give Graze ago-trust me it isn't all seeds and nuts. There is a really wide variety of tasty things on offer. There's definitely something for everyone.

I love Graze because of it's wide variety and consistency of tasting fabulous. It also allows you to still snack throughout the day but with delicious alternatives that keep hunger at bay. And with you being able to pay through direct debit, it makes it very easy and consistent- no messing about with credit cards every 2 weeks.

Book Review| Girl Online by Zoe Sugg.

When Zoe Sugg a.k.a the amazing beauty blogger and vlogger Zoella, realised a book it was to be of no surprise that I would be purchasing it- and that I would love it.

I have literally just finished reading 'Girl Online'. Oh my goodness I am in awe. I love it!
Girl Online has given me a great insight as to what it is like for people who live with Anxiety and have panic attack on a constant basis. It has made me more aware of how bad it can make you feel and I am quite grateful of this.

Not only has it been educational but I really love Zoe's development of the main character 'Penny' throughout the book. I'm not going to go into full details about the plot and what happens because you should go and read it because it is brilliant. But the twists and turns of the unfolding plot is truly literary genius and I think I may have just failed my new years resolution of being positive and nicer to people because I have just thought of so many hateful things to say to Megan it is unreal.

I think it is safe to say that Noah has been added to my list of fictional characters I have fallen in love with as well as Elliot (yes I know he is gay).

There's something about this book- I don't know what it is. But every time I finished reading that part for the night it made me feel happier. I know this sounds stupid, but it made me feel grateful that I live a normal, healthy life. It made me feel more positive and that some things can't be changed and that's okay. It's okay if I may have failed my media mock exam today. I'm alive, I'm healthy, My family are fine, My friends are great. And that's all what matters.

Let me know below if this book made you feel this way. Or any book. I'd like to hear what you have to say,
Leah-Marie xo

Stars.

On New Years Day I wrote a poem called 'Stars', I don't know I couldn't think of a better title. If you can then please leave a comment below I'd love to here it. So here goes...

Stars.

Glittering in the night sky like wishes in a well,
They've heard a thousand secrets and a million spells.
They hold the key to so much history,
Whilst we hold the lock of pure consistency,
We look up to them in our hour of need,
But are they really all they seem?
Or do they clutch our unfolding story,
Of all our grief and all our glory.

That's all I've written so far but I'd be very happy for some feedback and some ideas for a better title. Thanks for reading,

Happiness Jar.

At the beginning of 2014 I started something called 'A Happiness Jar' which I saw on a blog in late December of 2013. It's a jar in which you write down things that make you laugh or smile throughout the year: good times. And then at the end of the year you open the jar and read about how much has happened over the year. All those brilliant, priceless times you've shared with family and friends and of course those ridiculous times, when you sit back at the start of January and laugh about what you wrote on the paper in front of you.

I have kept doing this throughout the year (surprisingly) and tonight I opened my jar. It was such a lovely thing to look back at; all the lovely times I had in 2014 including meeting 5 Seconds Of Summer, going to various concerts and gigs and laughing so hard it hurts with family and friends. It really helps to make you feel more positive about 2015, which was one of my New Years Resolutions.

It's really made me think that however I might be pessimistic there are good times in life that we have to look forward to. These are the times worth living for. Like that famous quote 'Remember the little things because one day you'll look back and realise they were the big things'.

I hope you try this in 2015. I really enjoyed doing it.

Leah-Marie xo
