My Favourites ATM

Hi guys, I thought I'd write you a 'My Favourites ATM' post so that you can see what I've been loving lately and why.
  1. Starbucks Hot Chocolate- When I went to Mojacar in October, on the plane I had a Starbucks hot chocolate. I hadn't had one of these before- well not for a very long time anyway, and let me just tell you it was sooo good! That good that I had one on the returning flight as well. It was just so creamy and smooth and chocolately. mmm.
  2. Cheryl Fernandez Versini- I first started to listen to Cheryl when I was in my last year at Primary School when she had her singles 'Fight For This Love' and 'Promise This'. She was like the only person I would listen to apart from Kelly Clarkson. So when she brought out her new album obviously I was going to want to have a cheeky listen. When I first heard 'Crazy Stupid Love' I new the songs on her album were going to be great. who couldn't love that catchy tune? 'I Don't Care' is also great for when somebody has either annoyed you or your in a bad mood. An instant pick-me up :L Well done Cheryl!!! The links to both 'Crazy Stupid Love' and 'I Don't Care' will be below.
  3. Gossip Girl- Not very long ago I got Netflix which led to my discovery of Gossip Girl. Oh my goodness, I am addicted. Every episode is full of twists and turns of 'Manhattans Elite'. My ship ends up changing every 2 minutes. One minute you want Nate and Jenny to get together and then you want Vanessa and Nate. I'm on season 4 already... It's safe to say I am well and truly hooked.
  4. Frozen- I know I'm a bit late to join the hype about this one (more like nearly a year late) but I watched this a few weeks back and I can't get enough. My favourite character is probably Olaf because he is just so witty, funny and adorable. Isn't that like every kids dream though, that their snowman will come to life? He's just so cute! But remember guys, some people are worth melting for. :')
  5. Oversized Coats- I'm a sucker for anything that's oversized but I have been particularly loving the over sized coats that have been in this season. I've particularly been loving the pale blue and pink ones. I don't have one yet but I'm hoping to get one closer to Christmas.
  6. Pinterest- I've been really loving Pinterest ATM and have been trying to get into it more. I've made some new boards and there are even some that show sneak peaks of my future blog posts. You could have a look if you want, the link will be below.
  7. MaxFactor Eyeshadow- I'm been trying to experiment with my eye makeup recently and begun to LOVE this 'MaxFactor' eyeshadow in shade 'Earth Spirit'. I have no idea how it ended up in my makeup bag or even if this shade is still continued. But I have been absolutely loving this rose gold, slightly glittery miracle.
  8. Rimmel Lipstick - And seeing as it's Autumn my dark lipsticks seemed to have snuck back into my makeup bag. My favourite one is Rimmel's dark, red almost purple colour in shade 128-Starry eyed. I usually wear this with a classic cat eye, teaming this with my 50s style glasses completes the modern, retro look.
  9. Collection 2000 Concealer- And finally my last favourite is the Collection 2000 concealer which I have been using none stop at the moment. It just gives great coverage; a must have! Although I now may have to repurchase it as the shade that I have now is too dark for my winter complexion.

Thanks for taking the time to read this folks, really appreciate it. Originally, this post was going to be a kind of Autumn-fashion-go-to-outfit type thing but after trying to take photos of my outfit after school with a friend we realised that the pictures were not coming out as good as they would do if it was daytime and so you can have the pleasure of looking forward to that post next week.
All my love,
Leah-Marie xo

Bonfire night

Happy Bonfire night guys, I hope you all had a fantastic night full of sparks, colour and laughter.

Originally my family had planned that we would be having fireworks this Saturday and so I wasn't going to post until then but since then we have cancelled it as we have all had such a hectic week. But on Wednesday I did go out onto the green outside our house and watch everyone else's fireworks.
It was honestly quite beautiful. And that's coming from somebody who hates fireworks because of the loud noises- especially the screechy ones! It was a clear night; all the stars were out, it was slightly cold. Cold enough to require those massive cuddly coats we all have and in every direction there were striking, bold sparks filling the night sky. Reds, Blues, Purples, Greens. Beautiful. As I stood there I felt a sort of calmness wash over me. Like I needed them crucial 10 minutes to just stand and breathe. With all the chaos of everyday life don't you ever feel like you need that?
It was a moment I think I will remember forever.

My family has arranged that we are going to go to my Brothers house on Saturday to have a Chilli with them. Don't think there'll be fireworks but just being together at this time of year is always great.

I hope you had a brilliant evening on Wednesday and that you have a fantastic weekend planned.

My Halloween costume

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Hi guys, so it's Halloween and I just thought I'd do a post on what I'm going to be dressing up as for the night, where my ideas came from and how to accomplish the look.
I really didn't know what to go as for Halloween and after endless scrolling on the internet of pictures of overly priced costumes that I would only use for one night and pictures of extremely  good makeup, which looked like it had taken hours to master, it was pretty safe to say that I was a bit intimidated. All over the internet it seemed that everyone wanted to have the best costume and look the best, forget out-dressing the host it was more like out-scaring the host. I was racing to calculate how much I could afford to spend on this one-off outfit, at this busy time of year. It was only till I was scrolling through Twitter late one night that I found a picture of what people use to dress up like when the traditions of Halloween started. It was very much use what-ever-you-can-find-and-stick-it-on. But let's face it, it was ten times scarier than todays commercialised costumes. So I decided to stick with a very simple and affordable outfit, no matter what everyone else was going to turn up in.
As you can see from the picture below I went as a Broken Doll to my friends Halloween party. This look was really affordable as I just used what I had around the house and from previous Halloween costumes.

To start off with I got two, knee length odd socks. I then teamed this with a regular black skater skirt. The netting that appears to be on the edge of my skirt is (believe it or not) a small net table cloth that I got from Wilkinson's for a £1 last year. Although I'm pretty sure you'd be able to find something similar lying around the house. This is also what I used to make the bow on my top. I secured the 'netting' to my skirt by 2 safety pins.
The 'apron' around my middle isn't an apron at all, it just looks like one. In fact it is just an old white t-shirt with fake blood on it, cut out into a semi-circle shape. I have simply tucked this into my skirt as I want to be able to se my skirt again after Halloween, although if you want to go all out, you could sew the 'apron' to our skirt with some white cotton.

I then used another old t-shirt to make the 'collar' on my top. This was the most difficult part of the costume, as I had to get the measurements right. It was quite difficult but if you had somebody's help it would probably help a lot, however good old perseverance never did anyone any harm. The collar I sewed to the neckline of my top-following the hem round.

For my make-up. The only thing I can actually tell you, that will actually be of use to you on this topic is that you should just look on the internet for ideas - I found that Google images and Pinterest were very useful, I'm sure Instagram would be too and maybe heck out some videos on YouTube. I can tell you that the must-have products to create this look is red lipstick, eyeliner, white face paint or very light foundation and grey/black eye shadow. This is the best part about your Halloween costume. Go experiment and have fun with this part. The world is your oyster.
